Double-Oblique patterns as found in Iranian languages (Payne 1980; Bossong 1985; Arkadjev 2005):

 

Vafsi (Stilo 2004: 232)

 

luas-i kærg-e=s bæ-værdæ.

fox-obl.sg chicken-obl.sg=3sg pfv-take.pst

‘The fox caught (the) chicken’

 

·        NB. A → Obl in the past; O -> Obl if prominent

·        NB. Unlike A and P, S is in DIRect case
